40th Anniversary Poems Archive
If ever two were one, then surely we.
If ever man were loved by wife, then thee;
If ever wife was happy in a man,
Compare with me ye women if you can.
I prize thy love more than whole mines of gold,
Or all the riches that the East doth hold.
My love is such that rivers cannot quench,
Nor ought but love from thee give recompense.
Forty years together you have loved,
Opening a door to love for me.
Romantic hearts bequeath a harmony
That proves more rich than any life might prove.
You made my world complete;
You became my perfect partner in life,
And you’ve been a world-class treat!
All the love you ask of God is here,
Delivered by yourselves, but made elsewhere,
Eden’s legacy, that you might be
Less fearful that your time pass by untouched.
It’s been so great, with me and you,
Let’s celebrate all we’ve been through,
Our ruby anniversary,
40 years you’ve been with me!
When you began married life
How entwined you’d become
As husband and wife.
After 40 happy years
You still say “I Love You”
in many different ways.
May your Ruby Wedding remind you,
You share a special happiness
Life gives to very few.
A day of celebration for this planet called Earth
A day to soak in all of nature’s worth
A day to show everything that we care
A day to make sure that we’re all aware
